With a Yosemite Trip coming up this October we decided to get out for an evenings tussle with the infamous George Smith offwidth - Fear of Infection (E4 6a).
It was the most brutal 15m of my life - the war of attrition took around an hour and a half of inch by inch progress to eventually reach to top. All the guidebook talk of the crack "easing at half height" was completely unfounded - the start was the easiest bit and it just gets more are more involved until just below the top!

- An extremely abrasion resistant jumper
- An unwillingness to fail
- A sympathetic belayer
