Scottish Success - Two days in the Cairngorms

Just got back from a very Fowler-esq trip to Scotland...

Conditions were looking alright so we headed up for a quick two day hit. On Sunday we managed to get done a long term ambition of mine - Savage Slit (V, 6) at Coire an Lochain - then Helena had 'Round Two' with Deep Throat (V, 6) after backing off two days previously due to an abundance of powder and absence of gear (both racked on harness and to be found in the severely verglassed rock).

On Monday we visited the Fiacaill Buttress at Coire an t'Sneachda to do the formidable Stirling Bomber (V, 7). After watching Andy Kirkpatrick suffer his way up the route on Hard XS I knew I was in for a treat, it would suffice to say I wasn't disappointed...

Got the chance to use a pair of Petzl Nomics en-route and was, as you would expect, very impressed. The ability to shake out made winter climbing much more summery, my only concern was dropping them. I've just placed an order for some of the Black Diamond Spinner Leashes to solve that problem - we've been selling loads of these of late, they may not be cheap but they are well designed and a damn site cheaper than loosing a top of the range technical axe!!

Keen to get back up there as soon as possible for more winter escapades.
