No time for resting...

Firstly, i'd like to say welcome back to our Spanish explorers (you know, bars, pools, occasionally rock...) but there's no time to put your rock boots away and rest! This week has seen the arrival of another two Welsh guidebooks!

Last year was a great year for new guides for our local area, and this year isn't shaping up too badly either. So, for our newly returned climbers we have a couple of different options:

A55 Sport Climbs
This new guide from Mike Doyle details all six newly developed crags between Llandullas and Penmaenmawr, including the increasingly popular Penmaen Head.

This is clear and shows not only length of most routes, but also the number of bolts included. Sensible maps, and excellent topos make navigation to and on the rock easy, and while the climbing may not quite meet the high standards of El Chorro, it is certainly excellent, giving these venues cause enough not to be simply a wet weather alternative.

Ogwen Guide
However, should our sport climbers decide to take advantage of the glorious weather we've been having and pick up a rack of nuts, the Climbers Club have also this week released the higly anticipated reprint of their Ogwen Guide.

This has been a long time in the waiting, but has certainly been worth waiting for, as they have clearly carried on from where they left off with the new edition of Llanberis last year. Produced to the high standards we expect of the CC, this guide (along with A55) is now available on our website.
